Nantucket: Oysters, Lobster, and The Five-Star Weekend

I have been dreaming of visiting Nantucket after reading Elin Hilderbrand’s novels and many others set in Nantucket. The “queen of beach reads” and several other authors do such a great job describing the scenery, incorporating actual hotels, restaurants, shops, events, etc. into their books. Each book I read felt like a pull to visit and check it out for myself. We spent three nights and two days in Nantucket to celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary.

Here are some of the highlights from our long weekend in Nantucket:

I didn’t realize at the time of booking that we would be in Nantucket the week Elin Hilderbrand’s novel, The Five-Star Weekend, was released. She was off island on her book tour but I bought a signed copy and enjoyed reading it while in Nantucket.

Local oysters, lobster, and halibut on repeat.

Head on over to my full recap to see where we stayed, where we ate and what we explored in Nantucket.

Question: Have you ever planned a trip around a book or books that you have read?
