Montego Bay

3.18.2025 – 3.21.2025 || Montego Bay || Jamaica

We booked this Spring Break trip two weeks in advance. Our requirements were a direct flight, warm weather with a sunny forecast, and proximity to the airport to maximize relaxing. We also hoped to play some tennis. We decided to stay at an all-inclusive Hilton property. It had tennis courts and was a 15-minute drive from the airport.

We arrived in Montego Bay around midday and headed straight to the hotel. Our room wasn’t quite ready. The front desk staff welcomed us with a local rum cocktail. We enjoyed it while we took a tour of the resort property. Below is the quieter hotel pool if you are looking for a sunny spot to chill. The other pool has a swim-up bar. It also has a water slide. There is a lazy river and party music if you are looking for that vibe.

We booked an oceanfront room with a balcony. This was one of my favorite places to relax. I enjoyed a champagne cocktail or a book depending on the time of day.

The outdoor lobby bar was a popular pre or post dinner spot, especially for sunset photos. Watching my alma mater, American University, play a March Madness game was unexpected. It was not on my 2025 bingo card. It was fun to cheer them on from Jamaica!

We hit the tennis courts in the morning before lounging at the beach and poolside all afternoon.

The quietest and most serene place to relax was the beach on the other side of the party pool. We spent our afternoons reading on the lounge chairs under some pretty big palm trees. Unfortunately, we didn’t spend much time in the ocean due to sea urchin warning signs posted all along the beach. No thank you!

Even if we didn’t swim in the ocean, we enjoyed the all-inclusive aspect of the resort. Jamaican themed daiquiris and pina coladas on the beach are the BEST!

This all-inclusive Hilton property was just OK for a short trip. Next time around I would plan further in advance and would venture further from the Montego Bay airport. I have heard that Negril and Ocho Rios would be great options.

Question: Have you been to Jamaica? Any recommendations for where I should stay next time? What are the must do excursions?
