Sedona’s Stunning Trails: A Hiker’s Paradise

I first visited Sedona about 20 years ago on a girls’ trip and remember the beautiful red rock landscape and winding roads. We only had time for a quick lunch in town as we planned to stay in Flagstaff. Having returned to Arizona several times in the last five years, I knew it was time for another trip to Sedona for longer than one meal. We prefer resorts where we can play tennis and golf while being near various activities and good dining options. The Enchantment Resort, located in Sedona’s Boynton Canyon, was an ideal choice for a five day stay over President’s Day Weekend, offering a luxurious and peaceful environment. It was a tranquil spot in a stunning desert setting.

Here are some highlights.

Staying at Enchantment Resort in Boynton Canyon was great. We could easily start hiking right from the property. The tennis courts offered close up views of the red rocks. Mii Amo, their sister hotel, offered free fitness and wellness classes for Enchantment’s guests.

We hiked six different trails during our stay, some were hidden gems while others were popular tourist spots.

I like cacti, especially the heart-shaped prickly pear cactus I found on walk of the hikes.

The food and drinks were great. Southwestern cuisine is one of my favorites. We ate most of our meals at Enchantment, but we also enjoyed a few local fast casual places and an Italian restaurant serving Neapolitan pizza.
