In April, we traveled to New Orleans with my brother and sister-in-law. After picking New Orleans on a whim, we later realized two things that were going to make this trip even more fun. It turned out that 1) we would be there during the French Quarter Festival and 2) some friends we haven’t seen in way too long recently moved there!
Here are some reasons why New Orleans should be on your radar.
The French Quarter in New Orleans is known for drinks on Bourbon street, colorful buildings, cast iron balconies, jazz, festivals, Cajun food, beignets, etc.
We discovered there is one more reason to head to the French Quarter, and it is a champagne bar called Effervescence.
There is always some kind of festival going on. The French Quarter Festival is free and has over 20 stages with live jazz and music over four days.
A swamp tour on the bayou is within 30 minutes of New Orleans.
The French Quarter is great for people watching.
Check out how we spent four nights and three days in New Orleans.
