Get ready for a throwback to 2009. I have been wanting to recap this trip for some time. This is the perfect time as it was ten years ago this month that I set out on a 12 day South African adventure. Remember my BFF who lives in Bermuda? She is part of this adventure.
Her husband was pursuing his MBA and had a capstone project working with a company in Cape Town. I don’t remember who’s idea it was but it was a great opportunity to plan a trip at the end of his project to explore Cape Town and then go on safari in Kruger National Park. I will cover the safari part in a separate post.
Our group of six was comprised of my friend and her husband, one of his classmates and his wife, and then myself and one of our childhood friends. These are two of my childhood BFFs who are super fun to travel with!
We spent the first few days in Cape Town and Stellenbosch before roughing it on safari for the remainder of the trip. Here are some of the highlights:
Table Mountain
Cape of Good Hope
Penguins at Boulders Beach on the Cape Peninsula
Wine tasting in Stellenbosch
Head on over to my Cape Town and Stellenbosch pages to see what we did. Then stay tuned for the second part of our trip in Blyde River Canyon and Kruger National Park!
Question: What is the furthest place you traveled for a reunion with childhood friends?
